Santa Success!

It only took 4 years but finally a successful trip to visit Santa.  He was great during the almost hour wait and even better, not only did he not cry, he went to Santa by himself, sat on his lap, answered his questions and told him one of things he wants for Christmas.  Good thing he hasn't changed his mind since he told Mama what he wanted from Santa!  Phew! ;)

October was great but busy! We started the month with not one, but TWO parties (on the same day) in honor of Chase's 2nd birthday! We also had friend birthdays, a trip to Long Island and Halloween!

In between work and school kept us busy. We also went for Chase's 2-year check up. Good news is he is 90% for height and weight. The doctor is thrilled with everything - he looks and sounds great!

We also managed to get Chase his first dose of H1N1 vaccine. Due to his asthma he HAD to have a shot which is REALLY hard to find. Thanks to some perseverance I was finally able to find one. Hopefully by the time he is due for his second (in late November) they will be more readily available (keep your fingers crossed)!

Chase was with me in the kitchen this morning, then he toddled off into the living room to play while I finished getting everything together for his lunch.

The next thing I hear is: "Mama!...Mama?!" He didn't sound distressed, so I was just wondering WHY he couldn't come see me and tell me what he wanted. So I wander into the living room and find this:

Then he was kind enough to show me how he got there. Looks like it is time to rearrange the living room. Again.

Yes, I know, it's been a while...

And since my last post Chase has been healthy, sick and well again. We have been to the hospital for a brief stay, he's lost weight and gained weight. Been diagnosed with eczema and been to a parade. He's moved up another classroom at school and he's learned some new words. To make a long story short, we've been busy!

We were in the hospital early May due to dehydration. It started with vomiting on a Thursday afternoon. By Thursday night he added diarrhea to the mix (lovely). After 14hrs the puking/dry-heaving stopped and I was finally able to start Pedialyte, but apparently it was too late. By Saturday morning he just wasn't my kid! He was lethargic and whiny...so I packed a bag for the hospital and headed off for walk-in hours at the pediatrician. Sure enough they thought he looked & sounded pretty crappy so they sent us on the ER. The ER docs opted to admit him, gave him an IV and we were there for the night! Fortunately the IV was just what he needed and by Sunday afternoon he had rounded the bend and we were sprung. He still suffered from bouts of explosive diarrhea (like, running down his legs, into shoes - or whooos as he likes to call them) - but he was on the mend!

We spent the next week/weekend recovering from that one. I had a lovely Mother's Day (afternoon was spent at the beach with Bobbi & Chase) and then I spent the next weekend priming, painting and moving furniture so Chase is in his "new" (and final) room (at least in this house). It took a little getting used to for him, but I think he is settling in nicely. Now we just have to get the wall shelves installed so that Bubbles (his fish - yes, he named him) can move in with him!

As for Memorial Day weekend, I got a new toy. Something I have been coveting for months! A new digital SLR camera. I did my research. Reviewed consumerreports.org and we went for it! It is a Canon Rebel XSi and I am in love! I tormented the poor boy with it all weekend! Just check out some of the awesome pictures I got!

Forgot to mention...

in my post yesterday, Chase is also already working on his 2-yr molar! Aren't we lucky?!

(That would explain why he's been "High Maintenance Hank" the last week or 2!)

Oh, dear lord...

We took Chase in for his 18-mo check up today. Everything looks good. Doctor is thrilled with how he looks and sounds (given the fact he's had a cold, etc). But I think we might be in trouble. He weighed in at 30lbs. 2oz and he is 35" tall. That puts him in the 92% for weight and the 100% for height! Seriously?! 100%!!!! Good lord...

Easter Egg Hunt 2009

Uncle Michael and Auntie Caca (aka Erica) hosted a "Greek Easter" brunch today - complete with an egg hunt! Chase was prepared with his basket - which he insisted on carrying - we think he had fun - don't you?




And no, we have NO idea why he walked up and hugged a tree! But he sure does look cute doing it, doesn't he?!

I know, I have been awful about updating...we've just been really busy! This past weekend was constant motion...we even went to the park twice - once without Papa and once with. (Actually, it was 2 different parks on 2 different days.) Anyway, here are some pictures from Sunday...
