Chase is OK, it's Papa & I that are a mess!

Well, I am headed into week 2 of being sick...another weekend has gone by where I accomplished virtually nothing! And now, Jason is sick as well! Not good!! We are both doing everything we can to get better fast, but it doesn't really seem to be working. Unfortunately neither of us is able to take any time off right now since the head of my department is on vacation and two of Jason's co-workers are out (one is on vacation, the other just had a baby! Well- his wife had the baby)!

Anyway, Chase has a little bit of a cough, but it doesn't seem to be affecting him at all! He has no fever, just a little bit of a runny nose! He napped like a CHAMP this weekend (we have resumed swaddling for nap time and it is working like a dream) which allowed us to get some stuff done AND to get some rest! It really is amazing how well he handles being sick - I can only hope it stays like this!

Anyway, I worked on an "Buca barricade" this weekend, to keep that awful little dog out of Chase's closet (since we don't have a door)...I am really happy with how it turned out! It is going to work like a charm and hey, now I don't have to kill the dog! ;) She really was starting to make us crazy...grabbing shoes, blankets, onesies!

I think we've dodged the bullet!

It would appear that we have managed to avoid Chase getting really sick this time around! For a couple of nights there we had to get up with him in the middle of the night and put him in his swing so he could breathe easier (and go back to sleep), but last night we both (Mama & baby) managed to sleep through the night!

I am still not feeling better, but at least I got a pretty decent night's rest and hopefully will continue this upward swing!

Looking forward to a long weekend with the bean next weekend...not sure what we are doing for him for Easter, but we'll figure something out!

What a weekend!

So this weekend started off with Pizza night with Uncle Michael and Auntie Erica! Chase was SO good all night, although he did spit up a few times which earned him the nickname "Spewey McGoo" from his Mama and Uncle Michael was heard calling him "Sammy Spit-up"! We were out until after 11:00 which is SUPER late for all of us!

On Saturday we went to Tom & Kara's house! Chase got to see his buddy Connor again (who we haven't seen since he was 2 days old)! I forgot my camera, but Kara did get a couple of pictures of the kids together...here are a few of them!! (Connor is 8 weeks younger than Chase and Emma will be three in May!)

We rounded out the weekend with a visit from Bobbi and Grampy! Chase got a little outfit for Spring from Bobbi (because they didn't have anything in baby sizes in Cancun) and Jason & I got a couple of boxes of Girl Scout cookies - Yummy!!!

It was a rough night last night...Chase has a head cold now and Mama is sick, so it made for a rough night of sleep for everyone! His nose seems to be draining and he doesn't have a fever so I am keeping my fingers crossed that he will be able to stay in daycare and out of the doctor's office this time around! UGH!!

OK, so I am still in the process of moving our old blog over, but I didn't want to get even more off track in terms of updates on this one! So I've decided to start making updates here and I will move the old stuff over as I find time (I just really want to have everything in one spot)!

Chase is doing really well these days! He is holding his head up like a champ (finally) and flips occassionally (only seems to be when he REALLY wants to, even though we KNOW he can do it)!

He has taken to solid food like a champ! It was a little sketchy the first few days and was only interested in a few bites, but now he will gooble up a bowl of rice cereal with NO problem! I am looking forward to fruits in the next week or so. We have had to adjust our morning routine to allow time for cereal in the mornings now because daycare let us know that they didn't think his four 5oz bottles were enough. So we have increased the bottles to 6 oz and are feeding him cereal before going in. I hadn't intended for him to be having solids so much before 6 months, but I am following his lead...he certainly seems to be ready for it given how quickly he has taken to it!

Rollin'

What a fun weekend! We had another New Moms (and Dads and Babies) get together! Emily & Dave were nice enough to host us all again and MOST of us were in attendance except for Donna (and family) and Kara (and family) because they had other plans (they were of course missed)!

All the babies played and cooed! We had some good food and a lot of laughs! After Chase had a melt-down because I made him do tummy time, we remembered the trick Dr. Vincent recommended...lay him down on paper! Emily promptly got some shiny silver paper and the babies had a blast! Chase amazed us by rolling over 6 times in a row and then he and Will (his birth day buddy) had a great time kicking and crinkling the paper!

I can't wait to get ALL the babies together and see how much everyone has grown and changed. And to FINALLY get a picture of ALL the babies together! They've known each other basically since birth and we don't have one picture of the whole group! That MUST be corrected at the next get together!
